Brendan McBreen is a Poet and workshop facilitator with Striped Water Poets in Auburn Washington. They write sci-fi poetry, humor, haiku writer, are a student of Zen and Taoist philosophy, a collage artist, and occasional cartoonist. Brendan is an event coordinator with Auburn AugustFest and helps organize the Poetry at the Rainbow Café series (in a pre-COVID world). They have featured at various regional venues and are published in numerous journals including: Mad Swirl, Mirror Dance, Raven Chronicles, Mithila Review, Farther Stars Than These, Eternal Haunted Summer, Circle Show, Aphelion, anthologies from Kind of a Hurricane Press, in the U.K. journal: The Delinquent, and in the Rose Alley Press anthology Footbridge Above the Falls.

Brendan McBreen is a Poet and workshop facilitator with Striped Water Poets in Auburn Washington. He (sometimes She) writes sci-fi poetry, haiku, is a humorist an admirer of crows and cats and is a collector of weirdness. Brendan is a student of Zen and Taoist philosophy, Wicca, psychology, and various other esoteric ideas, a collage artist, a cartoonist and sometimes still paints. He graduated from Auburn Riverside High School in 1997 and attended college at Green River Community College, The University of Phoenix, and Monash University in Australia. And once long ago he earned his Black Belt in Karate from the American Karate Escrima Association. As a regular attendee of various poetry and literary events, (such as Burning Word, The Skagit River Poetry Festival, the SPLAB! visiting poets series, and Poets in the Park in Redmond) he has taken classes presented by many notable writers including: Wanda Coleman, Michael McClure, Anne Waldman, Diane DiPrima, Michael Dylan Welch, Jose Kozer, Christopher Howell, the incomparable Jack McCarthy, former Washington Poets Laureate Samuel Green, Kathleen Flenniken, Elizabeth Austen, and many others.

Brendan is (prior to COVID) an event coordinator with Auburn AugustFest (formerly Auburn Days) and helps organize the Poetry at the Rainbow Café reading and open mic series, and formerly coordinated the August Poetry Postcard Project.

He has featured at various regional venues such as Parkplace Books in Kirkland, Kent Cornucopia Days, and The Richard Hugo House in Seattle. Brendan is published in numerous journals including: Mad Swirl, Mirror Dance, Raven Chronicles, Mithila Review, Farther Stars Than These, Eternal Haunted Summer, Circle Show, Aphelion, Bellowing Ark, Crab Creek Review, bottle rockets,  anthologies from Kind of a Hurricane Press, and in the U.K. journal: The Delinquent, and in the Rose Alley Press anthology Footbridge Above the Falls.
